The story itself is not bad, although it does not at all compare with Homer's The Iliad and The Odyssey. With that in mind, the translation itself is awful.
I would recommend this book, but only if you can get a better translation of it.
I'm sure the book is interesting, I have not read it yet but when I do read it I'm sure I will enjoy it
If you enjoy reading Old English poetry, this book is a gem. The Old English is very satisfying, but I did have to consult a dictionary outside of . For that reason, I would advise using IPad instead if a to read it. The poetry is exquisite. The similes are easier to follow than the Iliad. The mythology begins where the Iliad ends. Some of the names/epitaphs used for the gods/heroes while correct are different than than the ones used in the Iliad. This book was FREE and put into electronic format by a group of volunteers. Still, the one thing I found frustrating was that the table of contents was not linked to the Books/chapters. Overall, I give it 4/5 stars, a very good read.
