A novella from Tyler, this is the beginning of the Helan Universe series. I like a good sci-fi that makes me use my imagination when the world building is good. D'Arik is the king of his people and has the responsibility of making sure that his race of people can continue. Both he and Varin, his consort and head of security, are on a mission to a newly found planet, Earth, where they've found a race that might or might not be compatible enough to carry their child. Jacy Townsend is the daughter of the most powerful man in the US and the chosen female to the king and his consort.

This was a pretty good start for the series. There's a lot of room for growth and finding out more about the two guys and where they're from. I hope Tyler tells us more of their world in the future installments.

I'm not sure that I like Jacy, actually I know I didn't. She came across as really wishy-washy. One minute she's all over D'Arik and Varin and the next minute she's denying them and the reason they're there. She sexing them up for the purpose of carrying their child but she doesn't agree with their reason for being there - can't have it both ways. Now, don't take this wrong but I don't think that having sex within the first day of meeting makes for good erotica, porn yes - erotica no; I also like a believable plot. The way that Jacy felt about these guys yet still doing the sexy dance didn't really make sense to me considering her personality. I just didn't get that part at all.

D'Arik and Varin were mated about ten years before meeting Jacy but the time they had together wasn't always pleasant; the trouble of his dying people created an almost unbearable stress level that sapped a lot of the king's energy and patience. I liked the relationship between the three of them. I especially thought that the chemistry that Varin and Jacy had was a boon to him because of the way that he was chosen by the king. Still didn't like her but I liked Varin enough for the both of them.

In the end I thought this was an alright story and I will continue to read the series because I think the premise has promise.

I love alien warrior with human women type stories. This one has all the elements I like so much, hot aliens, smoking hot lovin by two aliens, an alien and the President's daughter, and both aliens and the President's daughter Jacey. She is wonderfully feisty. The author does a good job with character and world building. I definitely recommend this book and I looking forward to the next book in this series. Enjoy!!!
I liked the concept a great deal, not new. the relationship of D'Arek and Varen was great. showing the strong phyysical yet a repressed emtional that i find very beleavable two men.

The introduction of Jacy Townsen was a new twist to an old story. her strength annd oposion to the Helan's forst registry woman of Earth to mate with the Helons, along with the stronng mating bond that held her physically tied to D'Arek and Varen while leaving her to mistrust them emotionally. I found that concept refreshin.

My only disipointments were, i would have like a bit more in the building of the relationships after the mating. I was also would have liked more.

Can't wait to read the next book of the series.
What a great book I can’t believe it took me this long to read it .This species of people have a mate bond and they come as a duo I’ve noticed only one other book in this series maybe she will write more
While the concept of this book is not new - aliens in need of human women or the race will die out - Lynn Tyler has done good job with it. The female lead's reaction to the situation is much more realistic than you find in the usual offering of this genre. I also really liked the relationship between the two male heroes - loving, sexy and hot. The characters are all very well defined, likable and engaging. Love scenes are sexy but not overdone. I appreciated that the author didn't sacrifice the romance of the story and just make it all about sex. There is a plot, it's interesting and fresh. I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series.
